Hammersmith Odeon, London, UK (September 13, 1986)
Run and D.M.C. put on a tough pose but I always felt there was an element of humour in their style. They were instrumental in changing hip hop’s image from the earlier
leather and rhinestones look of Grandmaster Flash to a much more urban fashion statement with the laceless adidas, trilby hats and hoodies. This show was one of the first tours that came through London with several acts – LL Cool J, Whodini and the Beastie Boys all on the same bill.
